Before walking the Brooklyn Bridge again, we grabbed fresh juices at Siggy’s in Brooklyn Heights …From the foot of the bridge in Manhattan, it was a quick taxi to the 9/11 Memorial …R train to 28th Street to get to Ace Hotel on 29th…Brunch at The Breslin …More Momofuku truffles (mint chocolate) from the lovely Stumptown Coffee shop … Stopped to watch the massive Pride Parade on the way to the Empire State Building …Walked down Broadway and ducked in from the heat at Eataly – which has to be what heaven is like in the mind of my Italian …After shopping around a bit, scooped up pistachio gelato for him and banana chocolate chunk sorbetta for me (OMG. The best!) …Continued through Greenwich Village, but our attempted to walk to Soho hit a rainbow-coloured roadblock …So overheated, by the time we booked it back to the 14th Street subway station, that we decided to hop on C train back to Brooklyn to change and shower the ridiculously hot day off …Back on the C to Spring Street in Soho …Browsing and shopping …Lovely Italian dinner at Rubirosa on Mulberry Street – grilled octopus, prosciutto di Parma, pizza and a bottle of Primitivo …Stopped in at the Little Cupcake Bakeshop and picked up this FEED bag with my rice crispy treat (such a kid, I know) …Got half way to the Williamsburg Bridge when Mario realized he forgot his shopping at Rubirosa …Walked back and then discovered Bread on Spring Street …Tiramisu and a Disaronno for him, a last glass of vino for me …Walked across bridge for a final view of Manhattan before hopping in a taxi to the brownstone in Bedford-Stuyvesant.
